#musicislife started not as a business idea, but as a recognition: the gap between how music is taught and how it is actually made is enormous.
Most music education teaches you about music. This academy teaches you to make it. There is a difference — and it shows in the work students leave with.
Rishe came back from Point Blank London in 2015 with a Master Diploma in Music Production & Sound Engineering and a decade's worth of work ahead of him. Labels in Sheffield. Radio in Bengaluru. University classrooms in Pune. Private students from 2018 — because the teaching needed to happen, with or without a room. In 2022, the room arrived. He called it what it already was.
How we work
This is a working studio before it is a school. The gear is real. The signal chains are real. The feedback you get is the same feedback a professional gets.
Every session is built on foundations. Not because shortcuts don't exist — but because shortcuts built on weak foundations collapse. We invest in the base.
You leave each session with something finished — or closer to finished. Theory is taught in the context of the work. Not the other way around.
The people in this room are still making, releasing, and performing. The path from idea to finished record is not abstract to them. It's their daily life.
